1 Chome-2-8 Mukojima, Sumida City, Tokyo 131-0033, Japan |
Small and concentrated like an espresso, this café located on a riverside away from the hustle and bustle of the big city has a number of faces, including a cozy café, apparel store, and art gallery. At Deus’s first-ever Asakusa location, you can enjoy coffee brewed by a celebrated barista and original dishes found nowhere else.
This inviting glass-walled hangout is part of the new Tobu Railway urban development project MIZUMACHI in the old east Tokyo area of Asakusa. Sitting directly between the ancient Buddhist temple Sensō-ji and the world’s tallest broadcasting tower, Tokyo Skytree. Mizumachi is built under an overhead railway track. With a lush new metropolitan park on one side and a tranquil broad walk canal leading to the Sumida River Walk on the other, it’s easy to see why so many people trek the path between the two landmarks in this richly historic suburb.
The newest Deus Japan location houses a cornucopia of art, surfboards, motorcycles, and apparel in a cozy space. A central off-form concrete bar anchors the cafe space and intersects graciously with red pillars. Classic Deus art fill the walls and racks as the smell of coffee wafts through the air. The cafe brings back familiar favorites from the classic Harajuku menu and tasty coffee drinks from our resident barista and bean whisperer, Yoshi san. Deus craft beer, new cocktails and signature rice dishes will also be available for you to enjoy at the indoor car counter and outdoor terraces tables.
Drop-in under the overpass when you are in Asakusa next.
